Hysterectomy and bladder

So am 9 days post op from a full abdominal hysterectomy. First 7 days was awful with pain as I couldn’t open my bowels so was bloated and in agony all the time. That has since improved as I can ‘potter’ around ok now and feeling a lot more human.
My concern is going to the wee I feel a sharp stabbing pain when I need to go and then as my bladder empty’s the pain gets worse and worse to a tight cramp that makes me scream and it holds like that for about 20-30 seconds after I have finished.
Anyone know if this is normal and thinks setting down or shout I ring someone?

Give it a chance to settle.
Your whole insides have been rearranged... a section has gone and everything else is bruised and battered from surgery.
I found the first fortnight really hard, and wondered if it had been an awful mistake..it hurt to pee, it hurt to move and I still had an awful dragging pain like before the op!
A month later I was a new woman and 15 years on am so glad I had it done.
It's major surgery and it takes a while for your remaining organs to get to grips with it.
However if you are feeling ill as well... a gp visit to check you haven't picked up a UTI may be a good idea.

I would get checked for a UTI just in case, however I do occasionally get pain like this post-hysterectomy (also had bladder surgery at same time and think I have adhesions between bowel and bladder that cause issues).

I'm 15 days post op OP waves

Yes I'm feeling exactly the same - I had a UTI the week after - I actually went to the doctors Friday as I thought it hadn't cleared up but it had.

I feel like I need to go for a wee all the time and I'm still getting sharp pains.

Going for a poo is weird as I don't seem to be getting the normal signs I need to go just pain again that's relieved once I go.

I'm still bleeding a little bit. I do feel a lot better though than I did - I thought I would be able to work from home next week but no chance really. I don't feel like I have improved much the last week or so - got a bit upset last night but the doctor said on Fri everything was going ok.
