Norethisterone

I have heavy periods and asked my GP to prescribe me norethisterone to delay my period for my holiday.

I've just noticed that she has prescribed me 10 days worth which won't work as it will mean I will start my period whilst I'm away.

You are supposed to take 3 per day if I ration them to 2 per day will they still be effective?

Sorry....just seen this.

Not sure if it's too late but, you can buy them from Boots online pharmacy without a prescription and get next day delivery.

I have just ordered some for going away at weekend...and my period has come early! Bloody typical!!

Have any of you ladies used this before? I came off the pill January and my cycles are long. Coming down from 74 days to the last two being 40. I don't want to throw them off again worse but would love not to be on my period for my holiday and I'm not likely to be pregnant by then either...

@mycrazylife85

Yes i used it in May, i have irregular periods (23-56 day cycles but appear to be settling to around 40ish days). Doesn't appear to have upset things too much. I was hoping it might 'reset' my cycle so i would be a bit more regular but hasn't made any difference.

OP, can you ring your gp and ask for a further prescription. My GP did say after a few days of taking 3x per day you can reduce and i think on average i took it 1-2x per day for the ten days of my holiday.
