Tore stitches

I had a assisted delivery (forceps) and cut during labour 6 days ago. Thought I was healing really well then on the 4 day things started getting really painful so I contacted my midwife and turns out I've tore my stitches Confused I've been given antibiotics and told to take painkillers and sitz bath, this is helping abit but I was wondering if anyone know any other treatments to help with pain and healing. Thank you x

Lavender oil in the bath helps with soreness and infection (or.so my midwife told me)

I had a really similar experience op. More stitches than a patchwork blanket and I tore them then they got infected. You can buy little half moon ice packs (they're actually for hemorrhoids) but, they work fantastically at dulling the pain. Grab them off amazon, freeze them then wrap them in a thin towel and sit on them / hold them to your bits. It's truly amazing.

Also, try getting a half moon cushion, like a travel neck pillow to sit on. Finally, freezing your maternity pads is a god send too.

I was actually told not to put anything in the bathwater as it can dissolve the stitches.
I found sitting on a bag of frozen peas helped. The good news is that the antibiotics kick in in about 3 days and you'll feel much better then

I'm also suffering from piles so ice sounds like a good idea thank you! Did anyone have trouble sitting down on they're bum? I can't sit probably. Have to either lay down or sit to aside

@charlottrebekah how are you feeling? I had my baby on the 8th July and burst my episiotomy... it was horrible but it's almost better now...
