Hi, just wondered if this sounded familiar to anyone and if so what it turned out to be? I'm 44, still having regular periods and not on any hormonal contraception. Periods have always been fairly 'normal'. I usually get a bit of crampy type pain for the first day or so but nothing major.
A few months ago I started getting quite severe right sided pain during my period, really low down and bad enough to double me over. Saw the GP who thought maybe a cyst on my ovary or fibroids and sent me for a scan which showed nothing unusual. Then nothing for a few months until this period and now it's back with a vengeance. It comes and goes and feels like really intense throbbing which changes to sharp stabbing pain when it 'peaks' and then fades to throbbing again and then nothing. Sorry for tmi but last time the pain came it felt like I was flooding but when I checked there was just a medium sized clot.
I'm definitely not pregnant, use condoms combined with avoiding piv at fertile times and have tested to be sure. Just wondered if it rang any bells with anyone as it's worrying me a bit now.
