When you pee wearing a tampon does it get wet?

Report
PurpleDaisies · 17/07/2019 17:54

Only if you per through your vagina.

RochelleGoyle · 17/07/2019 17:54

What? Where do you think the tampon goes OP?

Report
AppropriateAdult · 17/07/2019 17:55

The string might get a bit wet, but not the tampon itself.

Yes. I know pee comes from the urethra. I'm not stupid. But for whatever reason when I pee wearing a tampon it gets soaked so I'm assuming there's something going wrong down there.

School's out for summer, by the sounds of it. Google female anatomy. That will answer your question.

Report
stucknoue · 17/07/2019 17:57

It depends on your anatomy, some people have their urethra slightly different placed

Thanks for the patronising answers though. Hmm

If your tampon is getting wet could it be you're wearing it too far down in your vagina?

Report
sqeakywheel · 17/07/2019 17:59

I think you're not inserting it far enough in. None of the tampon should be anywhere near the vulva. Maybe try a smaller size?

Report
hopeishere · 17/07/2019 18:01

Thanks BuildBuildings I have fibroids so wonder if that's part of the problem. Sometimes when I put a tampon in (tampax applicator) it almost tips round and comes back out - hard to explain.

I push the applicator as far as I can and need super duper super plus ones unfortunately. And a sanitary towel.

Just swinging by to say that the OP has been around for some time.

The string might do but not the tampon itself

Unless a) you have a fistula between your urethra and your vagina b) you are peeing into a puddle and sitting in it c) you are peeing standing on your head

a) is unlikely.

Report
AnyFucker · 17/07/2019 18:05

Actually, joking aside. Mine sometimes "double back" but they don't get wet unless I sit in the bath for ages.

Report
hopeishere · 17/07/2019 18:09

I'm wondering about a fistula @AnyFucker I couldn't remember what it was called.

I'll mention it to my obgyn the next time I see him.

Ok. I hope it isn"t that and your gynae can put your mind at rest.

Have you given birth ?

Report
hopeishere · 17/07/2019 18:20

Yes, twice.

Earlyriser · 17/07/2019 18:22

Mine sometimes gets wet but I think I have a prolapse and sometimes my tampon works its way down to the entrance.
You did not deserve these patronising responses.

Report
hopeishere · 17/07/2019 18:26

I also have a prolapse. It's a massacre down there!!

LuckyLou7 · 17/07/2019 18:28

You need to see your gynaecologist, it's probably the prolapse causing this.
Sorry about the school's out comment, I thought you were the tampon troll again.

Yes and why I don't use them. The bloody (pun not intended) skirts that tampax insist on using have rendered them pointless to me.

Jambalaya76 · 17/07/2019 18:29

Yep same happens to me. I've had 2 kids. I often have to change other wise it leaks wee

Report
dementedpixie · 17/07/2019 18:29

What type of tampax is it? Some styles expand in length and I don't like them as they practically poke out at the bottom. The Pearl ones expand width ways and I prefer them
