When you pee wearing a tampon does it get wet?

Guess you were washing your hair on the day your school did human biology huh?

ihatethecold Wed 17-Jul-19 17:52:27

what??
really op?

PurpleDaisies Wed 17-Jul-19 17:54:05

Only if you per through your vagina.

RochelleGoyle Wed 17-Jul-19 17:54:43

What? Where do you think the tampon goes OP?

AppropriateAdult Wed 17-Jul-19 17:55:33

The string might get a bit wet, but not the tampon itself.

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 17:56:11

Yes. I know pee comes from the urethra. I'm not stupid. But for whatever reason when I pee wearing a tampon it gets soaked so I'm assuming there's something going wrong down there.

School's out for summer, by the sounds of it. Google female anatomy. That will answer your question.

stucknoue Wed 17-Jul-19 17:57:22

It depends on your anatomy, some people have their urethra slightly different placed

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 17:57:40

Thanks for the patronising answers though. hmm

If your tampon is getting wet could it be you're wearing it too far down in your vagina?

sqeakywheel Wed 17-Jul-19 17:59:52

I think you're not inserting it far enough in. None of the tampon should be anywhere near the vulva. Maybe try a smaller size?

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 18:01:26

Thanks BuildBuildings I have fibroids so wonder if that's part of the problem. Sometimes when I put a tampon in (tampax applicator) it almost tips round and comes back out - hard to explain.

I push the applicator as far as I can and need super duper super plus ones unfortunately. And a sanitary towel.

Just swinging by to say that the OP has been around for some time.

AnyFucker Wed 17-Jul-19 18:03:52

The string might do but not the tampon itself

Unless a) you have a fistula between your urethra and your vagina b) you are peeing into a puddle and sitting in it c) you are peeing standing on your head

a) is unlikely.

AnyFucker Wed 17-Jul-19 18:05:55

Actually, joking aside. Mine sometimes "double back" but they don't get wet unless I sit in the bath for ages.

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 18:09:40

I'm wondering about a fistula @AnyFucker I couldn't remember what it was called.

I'll mention it to my obgyn the next time I see him.

AnyFucker Wed 17-Jul-19 18:12:59

Ok. I hope it isn"t that and your gynae can put your mind at rest.

Have you given birth ?

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 18:20:59

Yes, twice.

OP’s posts: |
Earlyriser Wed 17-Jul-19 18:22:32

Mine sometimes gets wet but I think I have a prolapse and sometimes my tampon works its way down to the entrance.
You did not deserve these patronising responses.

hopeishere Wed 17-Jul-19 18:26:20

I also have a prolapse. It's a massacre down there!!

OP’s posts: |
LuckyLou7 Wed 17-Jul-19 18:28:22

You need to see your gynaecologist, it's probably the prolapse causing this.
Sorry about the school's out comment, I thought you were the tampon troll again.

babysharkah Wed 17-Jul-19 18:28:27

Yes and why I don't use them. The bloody (pun not intended) skirts that tampax insist on using have rendered them pointless to me.

Jambalaya76 Wed 17-Jul-19 18:29:01

Yep same happens to me. I've had 2 kids. I often have to change other wise it leaks wee
