Extremely worried about mid cycle bleeding

Anyone experienced this? What did it turn out to be?
It's not spotting it's actually brown and red blood.
I had some spotting last month mid cycle but this month it's actually like a mini period.

Hi ICloud - I had this last month (have my own thread!).. have been to the GP and am getting a smear. The GP asked the following - any pain, was bleeding spotting or like a period, any other bleeding (after sex), any changes to period, what was usual cycle length etc... She examined my stomach by feeling it and then did an internal exam.

I'm mid 40's so perimeno is a possibility. Obviously the smear results will be instrumental but she did also reassure that it may just well be one of those things.

How old are you? Could it be implantation bleeding if you're having unprotected sex?

Do see your GP - I have health anxiety and was worried but she was very lovely and I feel better for going.

Could be fibroids. Worth asking GP for a scan to check.

Thanks for replying!
I had my smear last month as a matter of urgency from the GP. I've heard nothing so I guess that's good news.
I'm 27 almost.
Definitely not pregnant and not had sex recently so it's not that.
I don't have period pain at all, maybe feel slightly tender lower abdomen but not sure if that's in my head.
I'm just so worried, I'm so young still, want another baby soon and I'm panicking Sad

I know how the grip of worry takes over you... Can you follow up with the GP re the results - it would probably put your mind at rest a bit.

I have a family history of c/c - although that is bad luck I think so my GP has said that if smear comes back okay they could still refer me for a MRI for a belts and braces approach if I wasn't comfortable with watch and wait...

What did your GP say?

But try not to panic!

I have had this for years so I just expect it as normal now. Multiple smears since have been fine. It's just ovulation bleeding I think

GP has referred me to gynaecology. Not sure how long the waiting will be.

I had this in my early 30s and it was an irritable lining to my uterus - I had on/off spotting all the time - it was really annoying and worrying. I had to go on the pill for six months to fix it, but it worked.

Sorry op this must be very challenging. While you wait it would be a good idea to go to a gum clinic and get tested for everything as some STDs like Chlamydia can give no symptoms for a long time and them cause intermentrual bleeding, pelvic inflammatory disease... Good luck op
