on and off for about a year i keep getting sore spots/ lumps dont know what they are.. on my labia majora on the same side. right now i have two lumps there one is painless just a lump and the other is sore red/ yellow and painful. id say my labia has doubled in size. usually they go away within a couple of days. im really worried it could be an old sti like syphalis thats gone untreated? or am i just being paranoid. has anyone ever had these?

Sounds like it could be a sebaceous cyst?
I get them occasionally (added to the varicose veins, I have a very attractive vulva Grin)
Might still be worth getting them checked out though.

I get these - little infected spots, which are sometimes less little and incredibly painful. They are sebaceous cysts. There's a hormonal element - they mostly appear when I'm premenstrual (as spots on my face do.)

I did see the GP to see if I should be worried (and one did helpful appear the day before the appointment, which is the opposite of what I expected!) She wasn't that worried, and did say, if there's pus about, get it out. Have a hot bath and do an experimental squeeze - that can allow things to drain. (She is clearly a sporner. )

But she also said recurrent infections can be related to blood sugars, and as a result of seeing her about my vulva, she took bloods, and I've recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. So that might be something to consider, too.

I definitely don't have syphilis - I was a regular blood donor until the diabetes diagnosis (and maybe able to go back once meds are settled.) Syphilis is one of the things they test for. But if you have any concerns there's a possibility of an STI, you should go to a sexual health clinic to get tested and put your mind at rest.

@EBearhug thanks for your reply. i am booking an appointment for other things so il mention this too. i have been with my partner over 2 years so i was worried incase it was an old sti. i went to the gum clinic before i met him and all was ok then. im hoping its just a cyst like you say. i have just finished my period so maybe thats why i got one this time?
