Washable pads for heavy periods?

Does anyone use washable pads? I have very heavy periods and am only able to use pads but pads are uncomfortable and make me sore. Was wondering about washable pads or period pants but unsure if they are suitable for a heavy flow?

I use them, although my flow is pretty average, but I find they’ve never come anywhere close to leaking. Lots of companies do starter kits, or you could just buy a couple and see how you go? I love mine, they’re so much comfier than the vile plastic ones!

Thank you, even if I just wear them at night or at home it would probably help. Plastic is irritating my skin and making me sweat. I think I will buy a couple and give it a go.

I use them, and when i had flooding so bad that i had to call the out 9f hours GP, they were the only thing i wasnt flooding out of in minutes. I have the Charlie Banana ones from earthwisegirls . I do find they can slip backwards on me, so i only use them at home, but they are great.

Tight pants are the trick to stop them slipping! Nice and snug proper bikini style briefs. I get my pads from Cheeky Wipes and they’ve been great - although I found the bamboo ones caused me irritation, the cotton ones are lovely. I’ve heard great things about the Bloom & Nora range as well. Let us know how you get on OP!

Thank you, I have ordered 3 different ones to try, I think one is bamboo. I can’t wait to try them, feeling very uncomfortable at the moment, I think I will be going commando for a week to recover 😢

I used Washables for very heavy lochia after childbirth as well as my normal periods - never leaked and so much more comfortable
