Hi everyone. Just looking to see if anyone else has had a problem like this. I've been having heavy vaginal bleeding, sometimes with large clots for 35 days so far. I'm having to wear 3 maternity/maxi night pads at once and change every hour when it's at it's worse. I can't leave the house and can't sleep at night. Dr has tested for pregnancy, STI, general blood tests and nothing. Have been prescribed progesterone, anti inflammatories and some yellow pills (!) and nothing has any effect, still bleeding heavy. Have been referred for ultrasound but the waiting list is 3 months! I'm so worried and exhausted! Has anyone else been through something similar? Any advice? Thanks

I had it for 4 years basically because I'm fat so hormones weren't working properly. Mini pill did the trick. Only you and your GP can work out what's going on.

Four years!! You poor thing!
Yes I've had hormones checked, everything ok there. I guess you're right. I just have to wait for the hospital. Just getting a little frustrated and tired. Thanks xx

Luckily I'm signed off for another problem (My ankles been broken for last 2 years following massive accident!!)
It is unmanageable because I can't be away from toilet for more than 20 minutes. GP has suggested a&e to me but I feel a bit awkward going for a period.

Have they given you a mirena coil? What dose of progesterone are you on? Are the yellow tablets tranexamic acid?
I was bleeding to the same extent, had a hysteroscopy within a month (of seeing a doctor- probably saw doctor a month after bleeding began) and am now having my womb lining removedl tubes tied.

Do the doctors know you're still bleeding so heavily? Have you always had trouble with periods or is this out of the blue? I bled as you describe for my first month and had the progesterone increased several times until the bleeding became manageable. I'm anaemic with now intermittent heavy bleeding never mind how i was to begin with. They can't leave you bleeding like that.

Hi everyone. Thanks for your advice. I went to hospital a&e Friday and had ultrasound and womb biopsy (clear). Then stayed in 2 days on a progesterone/trans something acid drip to control bleeding, then back Wednesday for another scan. They found fibroids and a 6cmx6cm mass on my left ovary which they think is a dermoid cyst (gross!) I'm on progesterone and trans something acid tablets and home now. I've had blood test done for cancer proteins and am having hysteroscopy camera and D&C to remove fibroids and biopsy of the mass in January. Luckily I had a great A&E doctor who screamed down the phone at the gynae (who's shift was nearly ending and didn't want to bother seeing me) " If a woman tells you she is wearing 3 maternity pads and changing them every hour, then that's an unmanageable bleed isn't it!?!"

Oh and they'll be putting the mirena coil in whilst they do the d&c
