Prolapse and feel alone

Hi all, i don't know what I need from this post other than to vent to someone who might understand.
I'm
Waiting on my appointment to get diagnosed and the gp hasn't even looked but I'm 99% sure I have a bladder and possible rectal prolapse and it's getting me so down, it's worse since I became religious about my pelvic floor exercises,
Maybe I am just thinking about it more.
It is taking over my head and I'm only in my 30's the thought of not being able to join in with my kids life for fear of everything falling out is terrifying me.
All I am doing is googling and worrying.
Thanks for taking the time to read my worries

Thought I'd say hi - definitely know how you're feeling as I thought I had this as had lots of symptoms, particularly of a rectolcele. I've just had my gynae appointment finally and apparently there isn't a prolapse, just a giant skin tag where my epi/tears were (nice) and possible nerve damage. I still am not totally convinced but you could end up being mistaken about your symptoms.

If not then you'll get referred to physio and I think there's a lot they can help with.

Really sympathise as I was so panicked in the first few weeks after giving birth. How many weeks pp are you? I had a difficult birth so not fully healed but 5 months on I feel way less falling out than I did.

I’m no expert but I would have thought yours is unlikely to worsen now unless you put strain on your pelvic floor with heavy lifting, high impact exercise etc. Also if you were to gain weight.

Seeing a pelvic physio will help you learn to retrain your PF for maximum strength possible, which will protect it in the coming years, so definitely push for referral to one if your GP confirms it.

Your symptoms may worsen at the menopause, as the hormonal chnages then weaken the tissues, but if your pelvic floor is in the best shape possible, you still may not need surgery at that point.

Thanks @littlecabage it seems worse just in the last few months but apart from the usual child lifting and pelvic floor machine I've not done anything.

Only two weeks now for my pelvic floor therapist.

My GP wouldn't even look but has me a referral but not till November Angry

When you say referral, do you mean the pelvic physio, or a urogynae consultant?

I would imagine the pelvic physio is of more immediate use, so great that it is only 2 weeks away. Good luck, maybe come to the other thread and let us know how you get on? I have my second pelvic physio appt in 3 days.

My first appt was very useful - you can read more about it on the other thread if you like.
