Every single period the first day or two I can’t sleep. I am trying to sleep now but it’s futile. Is this a treatable thing or do I just have to accept two days a month I will have to walk around as a sleep deprived zombie?

I used to be like that. Then I realised that the medication I always took on days 1 and 2 contained caffeine. Durr!

Then I had to choose between sleep and pain/nausea relief. Sleep generally lost.

Could it be that?

No I don’t take medication for my periods.

I couldn't sleep on the 3 days before mine. Once it started I was very able to sleep. Never solved why though.

I'm the same and often around ovulation too. I have got to the stage where I just put on a podcast or audiobook on my phone, really low and listen to that. I can doze a bit when I'm not counting the minutes til my alarm goes off and even if I don't sleep I feel more rested. Hope you find some sort of solution.

I’m with you! It drives me insane as I’m actually so tired my eyes sting Sad then next week I’ll not be able to wake to my alarm. Periods are rubbish.
