PCOS and period weirdness

I have PCOS and have been aware of it for 1.5 years (since trying to get pregnant with DD2). Until recently I haven’t noticed symptoms because DD2 is only 11 months and there are no symptoms in pregnancy.

I also take the mini pill.

I’ve had almost no period since DD2 was born, even though I stopped breastfeeding about 3 month so ago.

The week before last my period started out of the blue. It was a normal full 7 day period. Then stopped normally. But my period has now started again and is really heavy. I had less than one week gap between periods.

Is this normal? Should I expect more of this? Any tips on how to get back to normal?
