Periods every 14-21 days(1 Post)
I’m still breastfeeding my 1 year old baby. My periods returned at 3months pp and were 28days regular from that point until these past few months. It’s not just spotting either but actual heavy periods around 14 days after the last. I’m not on any contraception as it doesn’t agree with me. I’m definitely not pregnant. I’m 42 but my bloods aren’t suggesting perimenopause or anything like that. Smear is all up to date and normal.
GP only offers to put me on hormonal contraception (but it sends me properly haywire - angry, depressed etc and coil made me bleed so much I became anemic) rather than find out why this might be happening. It’s as if they’ve decided it must be age and that’s that. Baby has been feeding a lot more in the past 8 weeks for some reason but instead of it causing bigger gaps between periods it seems to have reduced them.
Does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening to me?
