Ooh goody an up front by stealth grin

Go back and pay, why wouldn't you?

rubyslippers Wed 22-Jul-09 11:58:25

how can you forget to pay?

you've eaten and drunk - therefore you pay

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 11:58:45

oh no i am at HOME now you dullards.

randomtask Wed 22-Jul-09 11:58:45

I'd go back and pay.

kathyis6incheshigh Wed 22-Jul-09 11:58:49

Go straight back, or if I can't, I would ring them up immediately and promise to pay as soon as I could.

IdrisTheDragon Wed 22-Jul-09 11:58:57

I would go back in if I realised straight away. If I had got home then I am not sure what I would do blush.

Dumbledoresgirl Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:04

Well you should go back in and pay, assuming you realised your mistake before you paid for a busride home.

But I would probably not blush

How on earth did you get out of the cafe by mistake without paying? Sounds suspect to me.

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:05

oh yes obvioiuusly i wont give oyu ALL the aggravation and mitigation at one time...

hercules1 Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:07

lol at your second line.

Okay, I'll bite.

You should return to pay for it because it is probably a small business and cannot afford to have customers leaving without paying.

Sagacious Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:13

You were evacuated
Accident outside and you're an A and E doctor
Reasearch for newspaper article

That about cover it?

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:30

DG ROFL at " sounds suspect"

yes i am a regular defrauder grin

IdrisTheDragon Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:36

Obviously I would phone up and beg forgiveness and go in soon or send a cheque.

CarpePerDiems Wed 22-Jul-09 11:59:36

Go back, pay the bill and apologise.

The only exception would be if it had been a stop off while travelling and by the time I realised I was already many, many miles away. In which case I'd call and sort it out over the phone.

IdrisTheDragon Wed 22-Jul-09 12:00:20

There's a cafe we go to where it would be quite easy to not pay. Always have done of course.

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 12:00:46

what if oyu didnt really want a carrot cake BUT when asking if they still had any baklava ( said bah kla vah) the slaoney assitant said " oh you mean ber klar var?"

ok ladies NOW WOT

Dumbledoresgirl Wed 22-Jul-09 12:00:50

Well come on then, explain how you happened to consume cake and coffee and then, mysteriously, think you were being given them for nothing and walked out whistling?

allaboutme Wed 22-Jul-09 12:00:51

its run by your best friend who you are seeing later anyway, so you can just pay her whenever and she wont get police on your tail in the mean time?

BCNS Wed 22-Jul-09 12:00:58

if they take card payments.. ring them up.. and pay person not present on your card..

morally a good thing to do.. and you don't have to go out to do it

Dumbledoresgirl Wed 22-Jul-09 12:01:35

You is taking da piss man

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 12:02:05

Dg you are really making me ROAR

SetSquare Wed 22-Jul-09 12:02:29

what about the pronunciation correction?
does that not sway your verdict?

Dumbledoresgirl Wed 22-Jul-09 12:03:12

Well what the hell has their pronounciation of a word got to do with it? Are you going to say you asked for baklava, were promised it and given carrot cake instead which was not what you asked for so damned if you were going to pay for it?

CarpePerDiems Wed 22-Jul-09 12:03:15

Huh? If you felt the assistant was condescending you could have cancelled your order at the time. It's not a reason to avoid payment.
