Well done! What sort of things do you like?

Liz Jensen worth a look.
I've just read Engleby which was pretty decent.
If you're doing an English degree, I suspect you've read all the obvious stuff, non?

Yes, I looked at the classics list thats on the adult book forum - have read nearly all of them.

I ant light hearted trash I think... less Jodi Picoult

Yes, yes, yes and yes. Lauren Weisberger wrote The Devil Wears Prada as well as others. The others are classics in an airport sense. I did an English degree too and I go back to these books time and again as they are easy reading but absolutely engrosing.

Read Miss Pettigrew - it is lovely and much, much better than crappy Jodie P.

Brideshead Revisited / A Handful Of Dust
Do try Liz jensen - she is light and quite funny

I think the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson, The Host by Stephanie Meyer (if you like sci-fi/fantasy), anything by Marian Keyes, The Time Traveller's Wife, The Kite Runner, Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult (best one of hers I've read), Tony Parsons Man and Boy, The Power of One by Bryce Courtney. All easy reads but great storytelling.

One Day by David Nicholls. I haven't read such a good book in ages.
