Can you help me find the name of a book?

I've no idea of the name of the author. I got it from the library years ago, meant to note the details so I could buy it, didnt.

It's an unrequited love story set in Italy, one guy is going out with this girl who another is secretly in love with. The secretly in love guy is an amazing chef and his food is an aphrodisiac (sp?). Anyway he has to leave Rome with a broken heart and ends up in some small town. The recipes are mouth watering and there are some at the back of the book.
