i just read another thread in another section that mentioned 'Raising Boys: Why Boys are Different' Steve Biddulph but the reviews seem very mixed and it's accused of being old fashioned? i'm pg with a boy and this is all new to me! didn't even know you could get specialist books like this! is raising boys worth a read? can anyone recommend another book on boys??
thanks smile

I have a few local adolescents by me. I was thinking of recommending the 'Dangerous book for Boys' by Conn Iggulden and Hal Iggulden. However on reflection I have decided they are dangerous enough already.

I am a bit late replying to this! But I have two boys and wouldn't recommend steve Biddulph hugely. He has a few good points in there, but there are better books out there. Yes boys and girls are different, but lots of the things he recommends I would think would be good for a girl as well! I'm reading pink brain, blue brain by Lise Elliot at the moment - good so far.

I do not believe that boys and girls are so different they merit their own separate child-rearing books.

However, there's a lot of money to be had by promoting any slight differences there might be.
