I really liked it too! Although I felt so sorry for Isserley.

I read it after 'The Crimson Petal and the White', which was so totally different. But that story stayed with me too.

Oh my gosh, this book stayed with me for months!

So poignant when one of the captured men spells out "Mercy" in the straw, and she is completely unfamiliar with the word because she has never heard it on human television.. says something quite damning about our media.

If anything could turn you veggie, this book will!

Fantastic book - I do remember holding my breath with fear when the truth about the captives was about to be revealed. I almost didn't want to know.

Actually, I may suggest it as our next book club read....!!
