What we're reading

I'm trying to remember a book.....it's probably a 1980's bodice ripper - can anyone help?

This is very obscure

It's set in south/southern America might be part of a series....not really sure

Heroine - spoilt maybe?
Hero - rough & ready apparently - deceiving heroine

Travelling somewhere, stopping at hero's home where his family are - twin sisters one looks like him but lives away the other and all the other siblings do not look like hero

Hero/heroine may/maynot be married

This is silly no-one will ever get what book it is - but I am trying so hard to put it out my mind but it is tormenting me

It sounds like a Danielle Steel, I've only read a couple and none of them seem any different from those two. Sure it wasn't a Mills & Boon!?

Not not Danielle Steel (read tonnes of them)

Def not M&B (ditto - plus it was a thick book)

It's someone like Shirlee Busbee or Kathleen Woodiwiss or someone

was it Meet Me Under The Ombu Tree by Santa Montefiore?
Bit later than 80's though

It sounds like Kathleen Woodiwiss - she wrote those kind of books. The heroine alway said things like, "twas hard to believe my own father would not believe me thus..."

Jude Deveraux? Or Judith McNaught? They always write stories about heroes with huge families?

Maybe - I'll have a read (of them all) until I find it

I have a feeling it might be Shanna if it is Woodiwiss
