If you decide that isn't a goer for your book club, then perhaps Where the Crawdads Sing and recently I have read Little Faith by Nickolas Butler which is one of those books that isn't on the BIG radar but is lovely and poignant.
Thanks tripfiction! I also like the look of Where the Crawdads Sing. Haven't seen anything of Little Faith, so will look at that too
