Start using Mumsnet PremiumIf I like Robert Goddard which other authors will I enjoy?
(8 Posts)Just that really. Thanks in advance.
Anyone?
Maybe Robert Barnard. Reginald Hill. Possibly Gladys Mitchell - her books are a bit dated, but they have that sort of classic English style (also, well-worth reading). Ruth Rendell/Barbara Vine. Sam Llewellyn perhaps. If you like the historical detail in Sea Change, Christie Dickason’s historical novels.

Hope you find something you like! L
Goddard is kind of an eclectic writer., so it’s hard to think who’s like him. You could also maybe try early Bernard Cornwall.
Thank you!
Robert Goddard is one of my favourite authors but like Dance said I’m struggling to think of another author like him! I haven’t read any of Dance’s recommendations so will look some of those up. If you like the historical ones, you could try the Shardlake series by C J Sansom - not particularly similar to Goddard but really good historical crime series!
@ChessieFL thanks for that.
