Hi, can anyone help me remember the name of this book please?! Memory is awful but it’s set in rural France, an old chateau with a mum and some kids.... there is old drunken man and the chateau is falling apart.... a school teacher is in it maybe?! I don’t know sorry it’s so vague.... I’ve read it a couple of times but I read so many books and my memory is rubbish!
Think it’s written by a woman.... does it ring any bells for anyone?! Thank you!

Is it a novel, or is it a “How to renovate a French chateau” style book?

I don't remember any children in Nine Coaches. Great book, though!

Sorry it a Novel, it’s a story about the chateau and the woman who lives there with her kids, they are dysfunctional, can’t remember where the dad is. I don’t know if it’s set in 2 timelines cos someone comes from London later on and inherits maybe?! Wish I could remember more! It’s good.... maybe a kid dies in it?! It’s about 15 or so years old
