I am addicted to these quirky characters, ones who are on the outskirts of society, usually lonely or damaged in some way (what would Freud make of me eh?!grin)
They have hidden parts to their personality like Hester from The Woman Next Door or they’re hardened by the world and the story sees them soften.

Any similar suggestions I could look into?
