(5 Posts)I’ve just finished the two “companion” books by Rachel Joyce. I’m totally moved by both books but probably the second one, The love Songs is Miss Queenie Hennesey. These books could have so easily told a more predictable story but the author chose a much more difficult yet real path. I finished both books a little exhausted and yet satisfied. I would like to allow my feelings for the books to linger a little longer so I’m interested to hear others opinions , best bits, how they felt about about the ending and the lasting impressions these books might have made. I can’t describe them as my favourite but they have left a long lasting impression on my mind.
I was shut talking about Harold fry today. Thrilled to discover we have Queenie's story now.
Countessa. It’s a beautiful story. Brings Queenie to life, there is so much more to her in her book that Harold never knew. I’m still thinking about her 4 days later. Let me know what you think when you read it.
Have you read her other books - Perfect and The Music Shop? Both also wonderful.
Not yet Avon. On my list tho’ . Thanks for recommendation.
