(13 Posts)Half way through this book and have absolutely fallen in love with it.
I bought it after reading about it on NM and just have to say thank you!! Definitely going to purchase the authors other books, his writing style completely draws me in. Fantastic book so far, am finding myself reading slower than usual as I don't want the book to end!!
This book totally blew me away when I read it several years ago. I was in tears at some points.
I would also highly recommend The Kite Runner as your next read by this author, although his latest, And The Mountains Echoed, isn’t up to the high standard of the other two in my opinion - still well worth a read though.
I read it some years ago, it’s an incredible book and I’ll also recommend The Kite Runner too.
And The Mountains Echoed is on my Kindle, to be read.
I really rated it too, I must look up the 'Kite Runner'.
Ah, a fabulous read!!!
The kite runner is even better
Wasn’t enamoured with And the mountains echoed
Glad it's not just me that didn't think so much of the third one. Haven't read either of the other two for years, might get them back off the shelf. Both excellent books!
Brilliant book
Just finished it. Absolutely brilliant, felt every emotion possible! Have ordered the kite runner today, really looking forward to starting that.
Amazing book. Preferred it to more runner and loved mountains that echoed but it's last on my Hosseini list. Not read the new one yet.
You may also like Waris Dirie 'Desert Flower'. I read that before her first book 'Desert Dawn'. Loved them both.
Yes, echoing the others really. And The Mountains Echoed is not quite in the same league as the other two books but still good. I do recall finishing reading it sitting in the car at the supermarket car park and crying at the end.
I read it a few years ago and the story has never left my head.
I cried for a good hour while reading this one, yet it still gave me a warm glow. Brilliant!
