There is an extract in yesterday's Guardian: www.theguardian.com/books/2018/sep/15/robert-galbraith-jk-rowling-strike-extract-lethal-white?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Copy_to_clipboard

I've set a reminder for myself to buy the kindle copy on Tuesday. Super excited Grin no idea what it's even about!

DH said he would buy it for me for our anniversary. I hope I will not actually have to wait a full week to read it. Hmm

I started reading it yesterday and was hooked : it is very long at nearly 606 pages!

How did you get your mitts on a copy? Mine is only coming on Monday I think.
Enjoy!

I’ve downloaded it on audible but have only managed to listen to the first chapter so far.

Oh yikes, another distraction from Middlemarch and all the books I've committed to read for Victober (Uncle Silas, Daniel Deronda, Wives & Daughters) waves @CramptonHodnet**

Oh yes , downloaded it on Tuesday and finished it today ( thanks to my 10 month old who decided to actually nap for a change 😃). Has anyone else finished it yet? I couldn't put it down!

I'm enjoying it so far.

I'm about a quarter way through and really enjoying it. I'd been a bit worried that at 650 pages it would drag but actually it's skipping along.

I need a hard copy, because DH wants to read it, too. I am so envious of all of you.

I preordered the hardback from Amazon and it arrived in Sweden yesterday - I am 185 pages in and it is really good so far.

DH picked it up at the airport and read in a single sitting on his flight! Can't wait for him to get back from his business trip now so I can read it

I finished last night, best of the series.
So pleased about one thing that happened!

Finished it now. Thought it was excellent - gloriously complicated. Because I read/watch a lot of crime thrillers I'm usually pretty good at working out whodunnit. Didn't stand a chance with this one, though. She is such a clever writer. It showed even in the Harry Potters.

hackmum totally agree , she is just such a fantastic writer . The book was fabulous and I was kept guessing until the end. Plus it's one of the few crime thrillers that I would quite happily read again and again !

I loved this book.
I ( sort of) had an inkling of the conclusion but not all of it! Very complicated plot.
Here's to book 5 ..

Me too mama. I know exactly what you're referring to!

Loved, loved, loved this book. Best of the series so far.

Finished it yesterday! I listened to the audible version. Robert Glenister who does the narration is excellent. I really enjoyed it, although reviews have been mixed.

Halfway through listening to the audiobook of this. I have to agree that Robert Glenister is a superb narrator for this series.

I have only watched the others on TV should I read the books first or dive straight in with this one?

Report
MrsChollySawcutt · 24/09/2018 19:09

Definitely start from the beginning, there's lots of interconnections between characters throughout the series and slowly unfolding backstories than become important in later books.
