I'm inspired! Help me find this book please!

I read it out my mum's bookshelf mid to late 90s. It was something about dark magic and sacrifice and there was a memorable scene where the woman who was married to the bad fella was naked sitting on a stool brushing her hair. It had a black white and red cover and there was a bit where a journalist was passed a video of something that went on and when it was played back it was blank. Can anyone help???
