(7 Posts)If you like Sarah Waters, you'll love Anna Mazzola.
It's set in London in 1837 and it's the story of Sarah Gale, a seamstress, who's sentenced to hang for her role in the murder of Hannah Brown on the eve of her wedding.
The reviews are fantastic, as you can see here.
I met Anna at a networking do - I guessed she was a Mumsnetter and she confirmed it!
The book looks really great for anyone who loves historical fiction.
I've heard of this and will be buying a copy this week.
Ooh sounds good, I will check this out!
I've just finished Affinity by Sarah Waters and really enjoyed it (Victorian spiritualism, obvs) so will definitely look out for this. I've seen some excellent reviews on Twitter too - well done Anna!
I'm in awe - she's a criminal justice lawyer with small children and still found the time to write. I feel very lazy in comparison.
Has anyone started this yet?
This book is a gripping read! I was hooked from start to finish - Anna has done such a great job with this story as it really takes you back to Victorian times in London, a real page turner. Loved it!
