(27 Posts)I haven't heard a single bad word about her new book "This Must be the Place" coming out next week. It's an excellent read, one to look forward to this Summer . And she is featured on Simon Mayo R2 too!
She's doing a book tour in Waterstones soon - should be really good. I love her novels.
my absolute favourite author. cant wait to read this.
Ooooh, can't wait for this. Heard her on Radio 4 earlier and this does sound like it's going to be great!
Just read the sampl,e quite a long one and it was great, so tempted to buy but still to pricy.
I love her.
my husband bless him has been looking everywhere for this for me. Cant seem to find it.
I love her novels. The Hand That First Held Mine is one of my all time favourite books. I shall keep an eye out for this new book next week.
it was meant to be out on 17th May. maybe that was online only?
Cheeky ask - if anyone wants to sell me a second hand copy I'd be grateful.
I couldn't wait so I downloaded it to my kindle. It is fabulous. I'm about halfway through - a couple of chapters have made me cry, which is good! And has also made me laugh. To me, it's very a very similar style to Wally Lamb and John Irving.

I've bought hard copy. no spoilers please!!
Just finished it and thought it was terrific. Decided to treat myself on kindle and it was well worth it.
Very much looking forward to this one - my favourite of hers is the Vanishing of Esme Lennox but I've really loved them all
I've read and re-read After You'd Gone and My Lover's Lover. I've loved all her books, but those two are my favourites.
Love Maggie! My favourites are The Hand That First Held Mine and The Vanishing Act Of Esme Lennox.
Can't wait to read her new one.
after you've gone and the hand that first held mine are my favourites.
MASSIVE fan of all her books. Started listening today-used a credit. 2 and a half hours in and I'm hooked, brilliant. I'll post back when I've done in 12 hours

over halfway through. its wonderful.
I've just finished this. It took me ages to get into it. I've found it the least accessible of her novels but my God I'm glad I persisted. It moved me to tears on several occasions. A lot resonated with me. Some of the prose was achingly beautiful and so so sad.
I need to read it again but slowly this time.
I loved it too.
Just picked this up from the library and really looking forward to starting it. Loved all previous books.
