I havnt read a book in probably a year. I do love reading but the book needs to grip me in the first few chapters or pages otherwise I get bored and give up.

Books I've enjoyed recently:
Hunger games series
Anything by Harlen Coban

So basically I would love recommendations for thrillers or post apocalyptic themed.

I don't do lovey dovey although I did quite enjoy the twilight series a few years ago

I have a kindle being delivered in the next few years so spoil me please! Smile

You might enjoy Station Eleven by Emily St John Mandela, or The Book of Strange New Things by Michel Faber.

And there's the 12 days of Kindle sale on at the moment. Worth having a look there to see if anything appeals.

Mandel, not Mandela (autocorrect fail!)

I was so confused by the Mandela thing!

Thank you! Got a starting point. I'm currently sifting through the 12 days of kindle. Don't know what genre post apocalyptic would come under. Science fiction and fantasy?

I liked the Wool Trilogy by Hugh Howey (Wool, Shift, Dust) and the first two of the Justin Cronin books (The Passage and The Twelve).

The Girl With All The Gifts by M R Carey was quite good, although leaves you with a few questions if you think about it too much.

There was a series on Kindle that wasn't too bad, I think it was called Extinction Point, about an alien invasion on earth leaving few human survivors. It's probably not the best series in the world, but it's not the worst either. I remember it as being quite easy to read without having to concentrate too much. I was ill when I read it and needed something I didn't have to think about but could still enjoy.

I was going to suggest The Hunger Games, just finished reading it and couldn't put it down. Going to look at the suggestions made. Thanks.

Thank you for all these suggestions. I've written them down and I'm going to go through them with a cuppa now.

The Girl on The Train
The Ice Twins
The Kind Worth Killing
Before I go to Sleep

All thrillers and very readable. Also, The Road by Cormac McCarthy is excellent post apocalyptic stuff. Sorry, I can't remember the authors of the above books but they are all easily found on Amazon.
