The Tea Planter's Wife by Dinah Jefferies is deservedly currently no.1 on the Sunday Times Bestseller list. Hope others enjoy it as much as I did...

Oh that looks interesting. I recently read Louis de Bernieres' latest The Dust That Falls From Dreams; most is in England and France in WW1 but the last few chapters have a young family moving to Ceylon afterwards to live on a plantation. The descriptions are wonderful and the social history sounds fascinating.

I'll put this one on my list, to learn more!

I'm about a third of the way through this at the moment and really enjoying it. I chose it because it made me think of The Painted Veil meets Rebecca from the blurb on the back.
