Start using Mumsnet PremiumBooks set in Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard
(12 Posts)I like to read books set in places I'm visiting and these are next on my list. I recently read Tigers In Red Weather and loved it, does anyone know of others with a similar setting?
Judy blume's Summer Sisters.
Nancy Thayer's books are all set in Nantucket
Happy Trails To You by Julie Hecht - seems to be a real Marmite book, but I loved it and found it hilarious.
Ahab's wife, by Sena Jeter Naslund is partially set in Nantucket if I remember correctly.. Really enjoyed it, now tempted to a re-read
The latest Jane Green is set in Nantucket I think.
Yes, i do, try these links: for Nantucket: www.tripfiction.com/find-a-book/?location=Nantucket&reset=1
and Martha's Vineyard: www.tripfiction.com/find-a-book/?location=Martha%27s+Vineyard&reset=1
Try Elin Hilderbrand, all her books are set in nantucket . Barefoot is especially good.
I'm reading The Beach House by James Patterson just now. A thriller set on Long Island.
I am so of you holidaying there!
I read a book a few years ago set in Sconset. Will try and remember what it was...
Though Judy Blume's children's books sometimes decamp there for holidays (one in the superfudge series I think)
OK, a quick Google makes me think it was Barefoot by Elin Hildebrand. It was a summer read, light but not unenjoyable. Set in Sconset.
Alice Hoffman's Illumination Night is also set on Martha's Vineyard.
Dear Doctor Lily by Monica Dickens - lots of it takes place on the Cape. Love all her books.
