I heard a couple of hers on R4 recently. Binocular Vision is the name of a collection of short stories, as well as the name of one of the stories which I heard. Her writing really appealed to me. Am I the last to hear of her?
She's a relatively recent discovery for me, too. I think I just picked up a copy of BV in a bookshop. I'm not always a fan of the kind of thing that goes down well in the New Yorker, but I thought that was an excellent collection. It's a year or more since I read it, but I thought the story about the lost child, and the one set in the European DP camp after WWII were excellent.
