(8 Posts)Yy to Anne mccaffrey. I love the peen books. The talent ones are quite good too. Would agree that the ones by her son are dreadful though.
I liked the Anne McCaffrey Pern books. But not the ones written by Todd McCaffrey. I also enjoyed the Crystal Singer trilogy.
I'd suggest reading the Pern series pretty much in the order they were written, so starting with Dragonflight, then Dragonquest, then probably the Harper Hall trilogy followed by the White Dragon.
I think if you like Eragon, you'll almost certainly like the Pern books.
I've read eragon and loved it too.
Which series did you start with?
I'm reading Anne McCaffrey at the moment and loving them. Also really enjoyed the Eragon series by Paollini (sp)
The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud is excellent - its the trials and tribulations of a surly, sarcastic Djinn.
Or now I've looked up Joe Abercrombie. There are too many to choose from!
I've read the other fantasy thread and have decided (I think!) that I'll go with Anne McCaffrey. Which order should I read the series in?
Am I making the right decision with this author or is there someone better?
