(5 Posts) Hi, I am looking to buy some audio books for my grandmother. She recently became blind so cannot manage audible or any apps. She is in her 80s so no 50 shades! She really likes thrillers and historical novels. Any suggestions ? A lot seem to be quite expensive on Amazon, thanks in advance
I was in The Works the other day and there was quite a big selection. I think (but don't quote me) they were 3 for £10. If that wasn't the price they were still very cheap in comparison to everywhere else I've seen them.
You can download the audible books and burn them onto CDs if that helps.
However, the local library may have a great selection of audiobooks for free.
Definitely worth looking into your local library.
I love my audible subscription but I'm not sure I would have the patience to teach an 80yo how to get along with it
Thank you very much for your suggestions. I will check out the Works next time I am in town. Unfortunately the library is not suitable for her as she lives in the USA and cannot get there! We are attempting to get her going on Audible but she is very against technology (fair enough!)
