(16 Posts)Hi my turn to host Bookclub and I have chosen the goldfinch which I loved.
Anyone got any idea of any different sort of questions or even games that we could do? googling brings up same old things everyone always goes. I want to be a bit different!!!
What happens after the Goldfinch, which country is Boris in now? How is Hobie? (Don't want to put down too many questions in case I ruin the story)
Film or TV series suggest ideas on how it could adapt to the small or big screen. Who could direct the film/TV series.
Who would play the central characters in a film/ TV series and why would you choose them for the role?
Ooh you are ace! Did you love it?
Who do you think for film?
I loved it and still can't get it out of my head. I loved the Las Vegas section and after reading another fantastic book, 'We are called to rise ' by Laura McBride, also set in Vegas, it pretty much described the outskirts of Vegas in a similar way.
For the film:
Ezra Miller - Boris
Aaron Taylor Johnson - Theo
Liam Neeson - Hobie
Molly Quinn - Pippa
Jennifer Lawrence -Kitsey
Helena Bonham Carter - Theo's mum
Christian Bale - Larry Decker
Denise Richards - Xandra
Cate Blanchett - Mrs Barbour
Nicholas Hoult - Andy Barbour
Andrew Garfield - Platt
I love ezra as boris!!
I was thinking daniel ratcliffe for theo
Oh yes Daniel could be a strong contender
Maybe have maps out trying to find places/streets in NY, Las Vegas and find on maps other towns and cities mentioned in the book?
Print off a copy of the actual painting - the pic in the book is so small.
A prize for the person who got the furthest way through it?
Jim broadbent for hobie!!
Yes he has the height too Gumnast
Billy Bob Thornton for Larry but struggling for the mum?
Rachel McAdams maybe.
