I have read this and LOVED it. Found the biography on TS White so interesting and loved Mabel.

Anyone else?

Absolutely loved it. Can't really explain how much. Have actually bought a paper 'real' copy as I thought it warranted it. Read it on kindle initially. Have looked up hatching goshawks and all sorts since. It really had the most visceral and stunning descriptions of the countryside. It's about nothing that I am interested in particularly but my goodness it grabbed me. Have been eulogising nonstop to all friends and family. I had an ancient copy of The Sword and the Stone for donkeys on my bookshelf and I am so sad that I got rid now. She so deserved that award.

I heard bits of it on Radio 4 and have got it to read. Very pleased that you two loved it.

It was really one of its own, wasn't it? So unique and powerful.

I was put out with the Guardian who described it as "misery lit" - in my mind, it was anything but!
