Martina Cole recommendations?

I have never read anything by Martina Cole although I always seem to hear her name mentioned. So, I am looking to try one of her books. Are there any recommendations which one I should try first? I particularly enjoy murder/gruesome books

I read one, many years ago, think it was called The Jump. I seem to remember it was quite a good story, but haven't been tempted to read any more.

This is the thing, I agree AgentDiNozzo that they are really popular...I am just thinking maybe I should read one to see if I am as gripped by them as some people are!!

Thanks for the recommendations - I have read Tess Gerristen a few years ago but I haven't read any of the other three you suggested. Are they all murder based?

I don't mind martina Cole tbh but you could try karin slaughter her books are great.

I have read a few and they have got much, much worse.

There was couple which I liked - 'The Know' and 'The Take', but the other couple I have read have been dire so I gave up. I loved the idea of Two Girls, but the blurb gives the whole story away.

If you can get past the awful sex scenes, Karen Rose is quite good.

I've never read her books, but enjoyed The Take on TV and definitely not just because Tom Hardy was in it

I read the first one and won't bother reading any more. It was very badly written, repetitive and cliche ridden.

If you want crime fiction, try Peter James, Peter May and Ann Cleeves.

Ladykiller. By far her best book. Read it a couple of times.
Not her usual gangster samey same stuff.

Yes, SnookyPooky I was thinking of trying Ladykiller...I'm not sure some of her other gangster type stories I would enjoy really.

I've read a few of her books. Her earlier ones were good (Faceless was my favourite) but after a while her books got very samey and was just the same stories with different names.

Love Martina Cole. Ladykiller is fab-I read it in a weekend.
Not keen on Karin Slaughter,but that's just me!
Try Tim Weaver-brilliantly written,but easy to follow.

I liked ladykiller as well and I have to agree her moore recent books aren't up to the same earlier standard.

I enjoy Martina Cole as an easy read. Ladykiller is one of the best as is Faceless and Runaway.
If you get round to reading one of hers and enjoy it try Kimberley Chambers and Mandasue Heller.

I liked The Life and Revenge. Her books do seem a bit similar after a while though.

Another vote here for Karin Slaughter and Kathy Reichs is also another great crime fiction author.
