I think I've just bought one- Clara’s Daughter, Meike Ziervogel.
I've just sat down to read it and will report back.

Paula Daly- what kind of mother are you?
Second Sophie Hannah - earlier books are better.

Alys, Always and Her, both by Harriet Lane. Excellent reads, well written and quietly disturbing.

Alys Always is great!

You might like:
Just What Kind of Mother are You? by Paula Daly (Cumbria)
Baptism - Max Kinnings (London/Snowdonia)
No Escape - N J cooper (Isle of Wight)
Tarnished by Julia Crouch (Whitstable)

Hope you find something that fits the bill!

Sophie Hannah definately. Her earlier books are better. Try Little Face or Hurting Distance.

"Daughter" by Jane Shemilt is excellent. Also "The Burning Air" by Erin Kelly.

The Replacement- Patrick Redmond
Wicked Girls- Alex Marwood
The Guilty One -Lisa Ballantyne (perhaps not quite a domestic thriller, but I enjoyed it and the one's you've mentioned, so it might be your cup of tea)

I second the Paula Daly - What kind of Mother are you?

Oh yes, the Guilty One was bloody fab as was Wicked Girls.

Weirdly I read Little Face and hated it so much it's put me off ever reading anything by Sophie Hannah againGrin

Sea Sisters too, and The Shadow Year.

Loved both of those.

I finished reading The Silent Wife by A S A Harrison. Don't think it works as a thriller, but is still an interesting read.

Shouldn't have been marketed as appealing to fans of Gone Girl because it really has no similarity.
