It's on the man Booker list it's set in the 3 years after the battle of Hastings about a band of guerrilla fighters.

Had a look at this a while ago when longlist was announced. The language Is virtually impenetrable medieval, quasi Chaucer.

Probably a great novel, but just too much like hard work for me

I bought it and returned on Kindle
I am not surprised they are trying to flog it off for 99p - IMHO unreadeable esp for ppl for whom English is not their first language.

Glad I read reviews before taking a chance on this.

The language is off putting!
