Ridiculous to be tearful over someone who I've never met and who still "Aten't Dead".

Its not ridiculous, he is a talented and funny man. I read your thread title and just feel so sad for him and his family. I am a massive fan and he has been so dignified and brave. Sad

He's a class act. So sorry, I saw him being interviewed by Jon Snow (another class act) on C4 news a few months back and while he struggled slightly he did sound well.

Well if it isn't ridiculous then I feel better about going beyond tearful and having a bit of a snotty cry. I first discovered his books a couple of years after my dad died and their sense of humour is/was very similar, Dad would have loved his work.

Actually, think I will have a pratchett fest this evening. Its been too long since I snuggled down in the Discworld. What to choose tho? Lords and Ladies I think. Probably will include a sneaky, snotty cry too.

Lords and Ladies is my go to Witches book, Night Watch my go to City Watch but I've been meaning to re-read I Shall Wear Midnight and I have a whole weekend child and husband free so that works out well.

Utterly, utterly sad. But I am so looking forward to another Tiffany Aching book.
Dementia is killing my father with alarming rapidity at the moment, it is an awful disease no matter what form of it you have. Sad
Am reading Making Money to the DDs at the moment, it will be extra special tonight.

I do agree with you. It is sad that such a talented person is suffering in this way. I love his books - discovered them when I was about 14 and have read and re read many of them. My brother is also a huge fan and is deeply upset about it too.

So, so sad. My mother died four years ago- she had early onset. Dementia is completely shit (no surprises there) and TP has always come across as a funny, lovely man and I hope my DC read his books when they're old enough too! Sad

It's very sad. Dementia is awful even for the untalented, though.

You most certainly are not being ridiculous. When I think of Terry Pratchett I see an imagination unbounded and the thought that he has now met his bounds breaks my heart.

Fucking fucking fucking disease. I hate it more than any other.
