Start using Mumsnet PremiumKindle problem
(4 Posts)Recently upgraded to Kindle Paperwhite from my much-loved but now dead Kindle, and I'm wondering if anyone has experienced & resolved this problem:
At the end of each book, my Kindle would post on Facebook "finished book xxx and gave it x stars", with a link to that book's page on Amazon.
Now, Kindle Paperwhite makes that Facebook post with a link to a website called kindle.amazon.com, which looks/feels like a Goodreads type of website where I have never created an account or consented to have a page. It shows not only my Amazon nickname, but also links to my Facebook account with my full name
Has anyone noticed this on their Facebook posts from Kindle?
Sorry don't know the answer to that.
But wanted to ask is the upgrade to the paper white worth it?
I upgraded to Paperwhite because my Kindle died & DH was getting increasingly irritated with me reading in bed with the light on while he was trying to go to sleep.
Reading in the dark with the in-built light is not very easy on the eyes imo & ime. And it is annoying to have to hold it from the edges, because pages turn if you touch the screen by mistake.
Then again, X-Ray feature is really good. I don't know how I would be reading Wolf Hall if I didn't have that to tell me who each of the characters are whenever they pop up (without any sort of introduction/explanation from Hilary bloody Mantel).
In short, I don't know. It's not that great, imho.
Thsns for feedback.
I was just tempted for the black on white clarity.
