Did anyone read it? If so, your opinion please.
So far I don't like it. Is it worth continuing?

Loved it.

I read it to the end just to see if it improved. It sort of did but it was very unsatisfactory. Not horribly so but just a bit meh.

Sorry I cant be more encouraging

Hmmm. I couldn't in good conscience say definitely yes. I found it a bit dull..but it is fairly short, it housing take long to finish!

'Shouldn't take long'!

I hated it. Just couldn't see what the fuss was about.

Nerfmother Mon 03-Feb-14 06:27:22

Hated it. Managed about a quarter if that. More like an eighth

I quite enjoyed it, it made me smile. Persevere , it's a short book.

Thanks for your replies

I loved it, and thought it was very funny and very touching.

Like Don'tCallMe, I quite enjoyed it and found it amusing but didn't love it as the friend who recommended it had. It was a short, easy read for me, but if you're already struggling to find reasons to finish it, I'd ditch it - life is too short to finish books you hate, especially when there are so many good reads out there!

I read it last summer. Really enjoyed it to begin with and it made me laugh out loud but the laughs got fewer and by the end I didn't much care either where she had gone or if she was going to come back. I didn't like a single one of the characters enough to make it a fulfilling read.

And apparently I had to say that twice blush

I loved it!

I really enjoyed it. I thought it was quirky and interesting and I found Bernadette and her family really endearing. But I think that if you aren't enjoying it, then you should just give up and read a book you will enjoy. My philosophy is that I will never have enough time to read all the books I want to read so I never force myself to finish one I don't like. (Except when it's a quick hate read and the whole point is to be infuriated by the book's crappiness.)

There was an interesting webchat here when it came out. Here's a link

HATED it. My sister raved about it.

I loved it too! But if you're not enjoying it, why bother ploughing through? Life's too short!

BeeBawBabbity Wed 05-Feb-14 22:00:27

I liked it, it was a bit of inoffensive light reading. If I remember correctly it gets stranger as it goes on. But totally agree that life's too short to bother with books you're not enjoying.

Read it a while ago. Unmemorable, and over-hyped.

I loved it. Funny and clever.
