Just that really - DH really likes the above authors but not sure what to read while waiting for the next installments!

He also likes Wells, Wyndham, Eddings, Tolkien but didn't like Jeter (too wordy)

Any recommendations welcome!

The Iron Druid Chronicles (Kevin Hearne) are fun as are the Dresden Files (Jim Butcher).

Steven Erikson is great too - real fantasy adventure stuff - though the books are BIG.

Paul Cornell's London Falling is in a coincidentally similar vein to Aaronovitch.

Charles Stross's Laundry novels are great fun (John Le Carre meets Cthulu)

Anything by Kim Newman and Neil Gaiman also worth a look.

C.E Murphy, or thingy who writes the "Greywalker" series...
Or Tom Holt for a bit of absurdity and a giggle...
or Robin Hobb, especially the "Farseer" sextet (it's 2 trilogies and is very good)
or Katharine Kerr's "Deverry Sequence" for a nice long, intricate, "keep you going for ages" series
or Malcolm Pryce's "Aberystwyth" series for a funny take on the "Film Noir" type stuff...
