(7 Posts)I'm feeling a tiny bit low and am looking for a warm cuddle of a book.
Ideally not very long and not focusing on mother-daughter-sister relationships!
Having said that I loved I Capture the Castle. Maybe something on those lines?
When I feel a bit low I like to read Katie Fforde's novels. Comforting, and guaranteed to cheer me up again
Last chance saloon by Marian Keyes is my 'read when down' book of choice.

I enjoy Alexamder Mcall Smiths The no 1 Ladies Detective Agency series for this kind of read. They are nice gentle books and easy to read.

Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day - funny, quite forward thinking for its time and lovely
Ballet Shoes or other childhood classics, but Ballet Shoes is sisters
Jane Austen - go for Emma to avoid sisters!
Maybe one of the Miss Marple Agatha Christies? Or a Bill Bryson? Both very comforting and wholesome.
