Oh no. I started that book on kindle a couple of nights ago but couldn't really get on with it after a couple of chapters. I started reading something else in the hope of maybe fancying another stab at it later. Is it really that bad?

It's definitely a book that divides opinions. I read it a few days ago, and thoroughly enjoyed it. It appealed to my sense of humour, but I can see that readers will either love it or loathe it.

I like it at the beginning but it's sense of the ridiculous is wearing after a while...and with a kindle it is too easy to swap to something that suits your mood better.

I loved it. It made me laugh and since I was reading it when up half the night trying to get non-sleeping dd to sleep I just wanted to read something entertaining.

But I seldom finish a book that annoys me.....read something else if you don't like it.

I think there's a distinct air of fun in it. You need to sign
Up for a suspension of disbelief

I'm not very good when it comes to the sense of the ridiculous, which is why I struggled with this boom.

I liked the historical settings and I like the way the characters meet through the book. If it wasn't for that I would have put it down.

Life's too short to plough on with books you aren't enjoying.

I didn't finish it either. Found all the stories about his past with famous historical characters really annoying.
Decided I had much better books to read than to waste my time plodding on with it.

Oh! I really liked it, thought it was great. I have just managed to read Life if Pi too, second time I have tried. Liked that too.

Made me laugh a lot too. The most inventive book I've read in ages.

I loved it! I think it's a marmite book though, needs to be your sense of humour/silliness.
