Anyone read the Anthony horowitiz Sherlock Holmes book the Houser of silk?

Am I the only one who thought "shit it's Jimmy savile all over again" ? ? ?

Yes. I liked it. I read it before the whole Jimmy Saville thing came out, so didn't have that case specifically in mind.

What the heck did it have to do with j saville? I read it at least a year ago but seemed to think it was a good effort and enjoyed it.

Et did you read the same book tiggy? I enjoyed it but thought that theme was a bit modern and shoehorned in iyswim.

I read it some time ago, and didn't like that aspect of it.

I thought it was ok, but agree that the theme felt shoehorned in. Didn't help that I read it after the Kim Newman Moriarty book, which was a very good book indeed.

Yes,the conspiracy of silence, and the cover-up and hint of famous names did bring the current scandal to mind. I wasn't keen on that story-line either. I also felt it spoiled the authentic feel of the novel,as Conan Doyle would never have dealt with such subject matter. Well-written though.
