I don't know anyone who loves him. I mean i ADORE him and all his books. My ex got me in to him by giving me his copies coz he hated him so much! Fight club is the only one i havn't read. I just love the way he writes, the black humor and there's always a weird twist. The story is never how you think it will be. The only one i liked but didn't live was "haunted". Tell me i'm not alone. :D

I've read a couple of them and found them very readable. Enjoyable sounds a bit weird, but they were. Invisible Monsters, Choke, Survivor, Rant and Fight Club (which is one of the books where the film does it justice).

I think it's just my sense of humour. I read reviews on "snuff" on amazon by people who hated it. Saying it was simplistic and the characters were shallow. But thats the whole point. He was ripping the piss outta the whole porno industry. Loved it. Love him. Curious that i actually own fight club but have never got around to reading it though.

I read Lullaby for book club, and was the only one who enjoyed it. My memory of that particular book club meeting is ten bemused faces staring at me while I enthused at length on why the book was fucking genius. Grin

I read an interview with chuck palahniuk which was really interesting, can't remember which paper it was in though

I think you either "get" him or you don't. I think people may be dissapointed that the books are often only vaguely about what it says on the blurb. Choke was my first book by him and i loved it! I hardly ever say this, but Snuff is def worth buying in hardback. The cover and binding is lovely. And i can't find my copy to hand, but i believe the pages are gilt edged. Lovely piece of bookbinding which adds to the experience of reading it. Yes i love books THAT much Wink

I loved 'Lullaby' and liked 'Coma.' Was irritated by 'Fight Club' which I thought was him just trying to be clever, rather than to write a great book. I didn't get on with 'Choke' at all.

Big Palanuik fan although haven't been as impressed with his last few novels. Invisible Monsters and Lullaby remain my favourites.

Was lucky enough to meet him at the Edinburgh Book Festival a few years ago and he has little stamps specially made for each book so as well and signing and doodling on them you get a special print on them too.
