Cecelia Ahern is the bestselling author of eight novels, including PS; I Love You, The Gift and The Book of Tomorrow. Her first novel PS. I Love You was subsequently turned in to a hit box-office film starring Hilary Swank which she wrote at the age of 21. She has since written hit screenplays and US sitcoms including the E4 hit Samantha Who?) along with eight further Sunday-Times best-selling novels. In 2010 Cecelia was named Best Writer at the Glamour Magazine Women of The Year Awards. She lives in County Dublin with her husband and their daughter.

Cecelia's latest novel, A Time of My Life tells the story of Lucy Silchester who receives an appointment card which she brushes under the carpet and avoids by busying herself with the chores of everyday life. But Lucy is about to find out that this is one appointment that she can't miss. And she can't escape it either. Her life is about to catch up with her in the most surreal of ways. Described as 'touching, warm funny and poignant', Cecelia Ahern's new novel explores what happens when you stop paying attention to your life. There's been a definite change in style in your books - they've become more and more mystical recently.

Did something in your own life inspire this and do you ever feel like moving back towards the more realistic styles of PS I Love You and Where Rainbows End?

I have just finished "the gift" and it made me cry my eyes out at the end. It really made me think about the importance of putting family first. Is this something close to your heart, do you feel as though you have not been put first as a family member or have you been guilty of taking loved ones for granted?

Hi Cecelia! I adore your work. To me, your books are like adult fairy tales. The mysticism facinates me. Do you feel that you have to keep your 'inner child' alive in order to capture the innocence and inquistiveness that your features in your narratives?

Hi Cecelia, how do you feel about the mess your Father made of the Irish economy and how he got out just in time? You must be so proud.

Can children really ever be responsible for their parents' actions though?

I haven't read any of her books, so I went on wikipedia and goodness! She is young, and lovely looking, and sang in Eurovision heats, and is married to a pop star, and gave her child the most lovely name (v chalet school Wink). Yes- life has dealt her a lucky hand but she seems to be making the most of her opportunities not wasting them, so good for her.

I want to know why she writes so many bloody daft books. I'm thinking in particular of the Land of Lost Things (can't remember exact title and my eyes bleed at the thought of seeing the book again.)

ImperialBlether Is that not a slightly pointless and unpleasant post?! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and all that but really? If you don't like them don't read them.
